secure contracts United States investigators found that Siemens had paid around
1.3 billion dollars in bribes. in many countries over five years time to secure

company had to pay 1.6 billion dollars half to the US and half to Germany which
was the largest bribery fine up until that point in history the company also had
to spend 1 billion dollars to set up and fund new internal compliance regimens.
Siemens did not plead guilty to bribery because that would bar them from contracting
with the US government and they remain one of the u.s. military’s. most
prominent contractors instead they pled guilty to violating accounting provisions
of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act . Siemens has since had to settle a number
of other bribery charges from other regulatory bodies in a variety of
countries.

wants to be the first major company to become carbon neutral in 2015 Siemens announced
their plan to cut their co2 emissions by half by 2020 and to be completely
carbon neutral by 2030. this would make them the first major company worldwide
to completely erase their carbon footprint going forward since announcing the
initiative. Siemens has already reduced their co2 emissions by 20% by investing
over 118 million dollars in improving the energy efficiency of their own
buildings and production facilities this will also save the company over 23
